常見問題

What's the difference between character count and word count?

Character count totals every character in the text (letters, digits, punctuation, and spaces). Word count usually refers to the number of Chinese characters or English words, which are counted differently.

How are Chinese characters counted?

This tool counts characters within the CJK Unified Ideographs range (covering Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese kanji, kana, etc.), excluding punctuation and whitespace.

How are English words counted?

A word is counted as a run of consecutive English letters. Hyphens and apostrophes within a word (like in contractions) are treated as part of the word.

How to Use

  1. Type or paste any text into the text box.
  2. The statistics update instantly — no button needed.
  3. Click “Clear” to start over.

What Each Field Means
